A walk on the Marlborough Downs

I seem to have picked a popular place today!

This is the spot where I wrote most of my prize winning essay back in 2007

A wide open vista - and a northerly wind to match

With a stone in my boot, I couldn't pass up this invitation

It may be November, but the vegetation here still has some colour

Looks almost like summer, doesn't it?

...but it's autumn

The birds haven't got to quite all the berries yet

Last time I was here (May 2019), everything was carpeted with bluebells

Walking is easy in these conditions...

This sign looks almost as old as I am

On the straight and narrow

The Road goes ever on and on...
(and it was more than four miles back to the car, too!)
